And Now...

following our move to the old sweet shop when we changed our labels and storage to offer you "candy without calories"  we are now adding soap making parties.  From 2012 you will be able to enjoy the fun of creating your own glycerine soaps and bath bombs at home.  Great for children's birthday parties, a fun girls night in phone 01732 871205 to book yours now...Options include making soap only, bombs only or soap and bomb, each party includes making a gift bag and presentation label, (hand and foot soak for over 10 years). Minimum age is 6 years old, groups from 5 to 10 catered for with prices starting from £7.50 per person.

What's New

Since opening the shop we have added a number of new products to the range. "Bare & Naked" no coloour, no fragrance just good healthy sleaning and cleansing - available as Olive Oil & Goats Milk soap, Hand Cream, Moisture Cream, Bath Milk and Shave Soap.  "For Him" Bergamot & Lime and Rosemary & Black Pepper (though us girlies can use it too!) - available as Soap, Shave Soap, Bath Salts and Bath Foam Gel.

With the Wedding season upon us we have also introduced "natural confetti cones" high quality paper cones filled with rose petals and rosebuds sold in 12's @ £30 availbe by order only.

There is also a new slant on our well loved bath bombs with the addition of "Floral Fizzers" and "Bomb Swirls" large super fizzy affairs.

The Shop

Well we managed to open on time despte not getting the keys to our shop until just 2 days prior.  It is as a 1980's estate agent would say a touch on the "bijoux" side - I like to consider it more "homely".  An image aided by the banner of our name and the fabric decorated shelving, the handmade cushions and quilts to compliment our soap and body products.

Day one went off with a bang, a number of our existing customers came along to wish us well, a few new ones found us and all enjoyed a freebie goody bag and a slice of cake!

We lopok forward to welcoming customers old and new to our new premises at:- Unit 8, Mill Yard, West Malling, Kent. ME19 6LP during the hours of 10:00 and 4:00 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

Being Young

Feeling so like a naughty teenager today, stayed in bed bed till 10am then sent hubby to McDonalds for a sausage and pancake breakfast which he fetched in his pj's.  We sat naughty and giggling eating it in bed - sometimes there is nothing like being spontaneous, throwing caution to the wind and just doing what you fancy!

An Alternative Creation

Well now I know there is going to be a shortage on any soaps/bath salts created with dried flowers for a while.  A problem with suppliers you might think - NO is the answer, more an issue of the four legged kind!  The troublesome new puppy (Tess the Rotti) broke into the storage cupboard and made a floral creation of her own - it was an interesting pile of yellow, purple, orange and blue all over the floor! But on further consideration I guess she did go for a good colour combination and the work room smells pretty nice this morning...ho hum thats life

My Favourite New Blog...

Being very naughty and trawling the web rather than working I stumbled across a fab blog - The Idiot Gardener not only was it an enjoyable read, it had me laughing till I cried.  As such a worthing piece of writing I have added it to the blogs I read list in 1st position, grab a coffee and pop on over - I don't think you'll regret it!

New New New

Well May is certainly proving to be a busy old month - I am currenlty working on the most delicious of  fruit shred soap, just like blocks of marmalade!  Whilst I have bath bombs and melts in the pipeline.  Just as well with a busy schedule of craft fairs ahead...

Interesting Data

I have been checking the sites reports as I do fairly regularly and was very surprised to find that for some strange reason  (that as I yet I cannot fathom) the site seems to have been busiest in September and March ( a fact that does not correalate with sale!).  That the majority of hits by far come from a direct search while the most used of my keywords is scrubcakes.  At the risk of sounding like a web geek  I am not only fascinated by this information but appreciate how it aids my site promotion and goes to prove that paid for clicks and advertising are not necessarily the way to go, once people know you are there they hunt you out directly and that is enough to keep me smiling :-)

Sun Stops Production

With the sun shining bright and the birds singing aloud is it any wonder I can't keep my mond on work?  But as the emails keep coming I need to focus even if the mind is still on a weekend at the coast licking ice cream on the sand!

So what is a blog and why do we do it? Personal sharing-not always a good idea, it is amazing how people refuse to share things with their nearest and yet happily post their most intimate happenings online-it's Jeremy Kyle in print!  Business promotion-do it the right way and you can be laughing all the way to a nice healthy company.  A way of earning a little extra- if your happy to click for your life then a few pennies can be made-as I discovered on a blog entitled Paid to Fart !

For me I guess it is a form of diary, a soap box from which I can shout without any real oposition, a form of advertising even.  A quick search soon tells us there are blogs on just about every subject imaginable with some more popular subject areas being completely flooded.  Though after watching
Julie & Julia last night I'm thinking those of us not wanting to be hugely famous and worth a fortune (anybody fit this discription?) should be very careful these blogs are powerful things that can lead to who knows where...take care out there bloggers it might make you rich!
